On October 7, a seminar titled “Data Protection as an Element of Society and State Resilience” was held at the headquarters of the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) in Warsaw. During the event, the Office for Personal Data Protection (UODO) and ZUS, in collaboration with the Social Expert Team under President of UODO, presented current trends and directions in data protection as a component of societal and state resilience.
The topics discussed included new types of cyberattacks, the impact of warfare on the number of data protection breaches, and new phishing and social engineering methods in the context of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and the conflict in the Middle East.
Among the seminar participants were experts from the Personal Data Protection Office, the Social Expert Team at the UODO, the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS), the Cyberspace Defense Forces Command (Divisional general Karol Molenda), the Central Office for Combating Cybercrime, the National Prosecutor’s Office, the Ministry of National Defense, the National Police Headquarters, Techom Sp. z o.o., the Association of Data Protection Officers, SABI, Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University (UKSW), and NASK.
During the event, PhD Mirosław Gumularz (Chair of the Social Expert Team under the President of UODO) conducted an interview with Divisional general Karol Molenda and led the second panel, which also included Tomasz Izydorczyk (member of the Social Expert Team under the President of UODO).
