Is the Internet of Things (IoT) the future, or is it already the present? Smartwatches, intelligent refrigerators, sensors in cars – these devices are everywhere. But what about the data they collect? Who takes care of it? What does this look like in practice?
Our team member, Dr. attorney-at-law Mirosław Gumularz, addressed these very issues during his lecture titled “Designing Privacy in the Internet of Things (IoT) – A Provider and User Perspective.” The event took place on December 6, 2024, under the prestigious patronage of the Personal Data Protection Office (polish: UODO), as part of the “Data Protection and Technology” lecture series.
Dr. attorney-at-law Mirosław Gumularz explained how to ensure data protection in IoT devices – starting with their design according to Privacy by Design principles and addressing real technical and legal challenges. This is a topic that fundamentally concerns anyone who uses or develops such devices.
